Challenge 1: Sequencing

Learners can listen to the story of the Madagascar myth about creation of the world, take notes and discuss some of the key scenes and characters that feature in the story. The challenge is to order the sentences to retell the story in English and French.

Challenge 2: Glossary

Learners can use the glossary provided to select and learn five new French words of their choice.

Challenge 3: Gap fill

Complete the sentences and match the French and the English to rewrite the story in French.

Challenge 4: Translation

A skills-based approach to developing learners' competence in reading a French text.

Challenge 5: Reading

Learners can discuss in groups the meaning of a section of the text, using their previous knowledge, reading skills, glossary and bilingual dictionary.

Challenge 6: Storyboard challenge

Learners can work together in groups to produce a storyboard to demonstrate their understanding of the six most important points of the creation myth.
