TransformCoLL: Mentee recruitment

News Date: 8 October 2026
News Source: University of Stirling

Calling all teachers that are new to the profession, or who are still in their first 3 years of teaching and would benefit from the support of a professional mentor!

Have you recently started teaching an International Language/Modern Foreign Language, such as French, Spanish or German within the last 3 years?

Are you interested in professional development through being partnered with an experienced mentor? Would you like to meet other teachers from the Celtic nations that are also newly qualified, to share your experiences and best practice?

The AHRC’s Transforming Culture of Language Learning project is looking for you to join their project, which will give you the opportunity to:

  • take part in 4 online meetings with your dedicated mentor between February 2027 to November 2027
  • attend a training weekend in Glasgow on the 20-21 of March 2027 (all travel and accommodation costs paid for)
  • participate in a suite of online professional learning sessions to support your language teaching pedagogy

If this sounds like something that you would like to take part in, please sign up using this link.

Sign up sooner rather than later as placements will be offered on a first come first serve basis.

If you have any questions about your eligibility to participate or you would like further information that is not included here, please contact Lucy Jenkins on TransformCOLL@cardiff.ac.uk
