Puka Urpi (Red Bird) is the first full-length fiction Kichwa Indigenous film by the Ecuadorian filmmaker Segundo Fuérez. This is a rare opportunity to see some of the exciting recent Kichwa Indigenous film production being released in Ecuador and to speak with the director about the film during a post-screening Q&A.

The event is a student-staff collaboration, and the Dundee University Languages Society will provide refreshments. The film will be in Kichwa and Spanish with English subtitles, and consecutive interpreting for the Q & A session will be provided by our students with the support of Dr. Claudia Marqués-Martin and Dr Peter Baker.

The event is open to all, free to attend and whilst the film does deal with the theme of death, it is suitable for children.
