With a focus on technologies learners will use their imagination and problem-solving skills to plan, design and create a French café in their school setting, using the French e-book as a context.

Practioners should focus on the food technology skills learners will need to develop in making and preparing appropriate food for their café.

Learners will also use a range of information and communication technology to organise and manage information and advertising. For example to create menus and flyers, and a website for their café.

These learning experiences offer opportunities for links with social studies and health and wellbeing as learners will have the experience of setting up and running their own business, including using a range of media to advertise and promote their business.
