Learners will use the recording of the Celtic creation myth as a context for the suggested learning opportunities.

With a focus on religious and moral education learners can explore the creation myth to discover a key belief from ancient France about how the world was created.

Through their participation in a range of listening and reading activities in French and English, they will be able to develop their literacy skills and a respect and understanding of world beliefs.

Learners should be familiar with the story in English and its main characters before they attempt any of the challenges, so practitioners may well wish to introduce the main protagonists before listening to the story and encourage note-taking while listening.

Practitioners may also wish to encourage their pupils to take part in sequencing activities in English before attempting the activities in French, to ensure that they have a good understanding of the key scenes in the story and its characters.
