Professional Learning

Some of SCILT's partner cultural organisations provide language courses for teachers. These courses aim to train teachers in a new language or to upgrade their current language skills.

In the CLPL in Scotland tab below you will find links to our partner cultural organisations who provide language courses for teachers, ranging from sessions of a few hours to a series of weekly or fortnightly meetings.

In the Immersion tab you will find information specifically about immersion courses abroad for teachers, involving a stay in a country where the chosen language is spoken. Where available we have provided information on the required level of language for participants, the teaching stage for which the course prepares them and whether there is funding available.

For further information on course content and on how to book a place please click on the relevant link.

SCILT also offers our own range of professional development courses for teachers. For more information visit our Professional Learning pages where you can find our professional learning menu for 2017-18.

Some Scottish Universities also provide professional learning opportunities for language teachers in Scotland, which can be found on the Supporting Language Teachers page of the Beyond School section of our website.
