Discovering Wales and Welsh with the Open University

5 February 2016 (The Open University)

LG001 is a new short online Non-Accredited-Learning (NAL) course produced by the Open University Department of Languages and designed for anyone interested in learning about Wales and acquiring basic language skills in Welsh.

The course content is organised around five themes, allowing learners to explore key aspects of Welsh culture from a different angle. The language content is aimed at complete beginners and takes learners through the basic functional skills such as asking for directions and ordering food.

Though there is no assessment or tutorials, quizzes are available to test knowledge and language skills and Learning Advisers will support learners in the course forum.

Details on the course content and how to register. Please note there is a fee for this course.

It is also possible to try the first 4 hours of the course for free on the OpenLearn site
