1+2 FAQs for parents and carers

The Scottish Government’s Language Learning in Scotland: A 1+2 Approach was published in 2012. It aims to enable children and young people to study two languages in addition to their mother tongue in all Scottish primary and secondary schools.

As local authorities and schools move towards full implementation of the 1+2 Approach to language learning, and in light of the National Improvement Plan, SCILT is looking to refresh the Frequently Asked Questions for parents and carers area of our website.
