My recent travels!

Hola,

Since I haven't informed you all in a while of what I've been up to I am writing this blog to fill you in on all the places I have visited recently. My first trip that I will be telling you about is Gibraltar, which I must admit I was very excited about - not for the monkeys, which is most people’s reason to go, but for the fact there was a Marks and Spencer - haha! Gibraltar was a very nice place to visit but also very unusual as their main road is also the runway for the airport! My friends and I started off our day with a steak pie for lunch, and I must admit it was great as the last time I had steak pie was when I went home at Christmas. Then, fuelled with our steak pie, we started our tour of Gibraltar - first stop the Pillars of Hercules from which point you can look over the sea and on a clear day you are able to see Africa. Luckily there were not a lot of clouds in the sky the day we went and we got to see it!  After, we visited St Michael's Cave, which I must admit were fascinating - they use them nowadays as a concert venue which must be quite unbelievable to experience. Our last and final stop was at the top of the rock where we saw the famous monkeys and even got to feed some, however others were rather scary haha! We finished our day stopping in at Marks and Spencer and buying some home comfort food haha!

My next trip was to El Torcal de Antequera which is a mountain range known for its unusual rock formations. We spent the day climbing the rocks and taking in the spectacular views! There's not much to inform you of this trip as we were just hill walking but once you see the photos you'll understand why I included it in here.

My next adventure was going to watch a Malaga football game with my friends! They were playing against Bilbao and my friends and I have said since coming to Malaga that going to a football game was something that we wanted to do! Unfortunately we must not be good luck charms as they lost the game but it was definitely an experience which they crowd made worth it with their songs and dances!

The last thing which I will be informing you of it that currently in Malaga we have El Festival De Malaga Cine Espanol. There are red carpets lining all the streets in the city and also very important Spanish film stars visiting the city for the festival! To say there is never a dull moment in this city is an understatement! I have just bought a ticket today to go and watch one of the movies of the festival tomorrow night which is called Nuestros Amantes, so I will let you know how my trip to the Spanish Cinema goes in my next blog and whether it is any different to the cinema back home in Scotland!

I hope that you are all well and enjoying the last term of school before the summer holidays! To all of you who have exams coming up good luck and I am sure you will all do great! Speak to you all soon!

Sophie
