Europe Day celebrations in Edinburgh - 7 and 9 May 2017

Europe Day, Castle Street in Edinburgh - 9 May 2017
The European Commission Representation in Scotland invites you to celebrate Europe Day in Castle Street in Edinburgh on 9 May 2017.

Fiona Hyslop MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Tourism and External Affairs, will open the celebration.

Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia will be showcasing their country, culture and language.

You can enjoy performances from Ireland, Poland, Romania and Scotland kindly provided by:
  • Big Noise Children's Orchestra from Govan
  • Romanian Traditional Folk Group "Busuiocul"
  • Polish Traditional Folk Group "Gosciniec"
  • Irish Dance Group "Siamsoir"
  • Stockbridge Primary School Choir
"Europe Day" Service, St Giles' Cathedral Edinburgh – 7 May 2017, 11.30am
The Very Rev. Dr Sheilagh Kesting, former Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland will be leading the "Europe Day" service. Former Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament The Rt. Hon. Sir George Reid, has also kindly agreed to deliver a short Europe Day address, too.

We hope that you, your family and friends maybe be able to celebrate "Europe Day" with us on Castle Street and at St Giles' Cathedral.
