Teachers - education, development and recruitment

The Working Group recommends that local authorities should provide regular opportunities for primary and secondary languages staff to work together and to undertake shared CPD opportunities. (Language Learning in Scotland: A 1+2 Approach, p28)
As the key resource, the teacher should conduct the lessons in the target language as much as possible; it should become the accepted medium for classroom language. (Modern Languages Excellence Report, p23)
We’ve given a lot of support over a number of years to the development of the 1+2 Approach and the key target and aim for us is to make sure that it is embedded within our education system.
